Phenol peeling: Specialist lecture and workshop at the SGML Congress in Zurich

On 19 January 2026, I had the special pleasure of being invited to speak at this year’s SGML congress in Zurich. As part of the scientific programme, I gave a specialist lecture and held an accompanying workshop on the topic of phenol peeling, embedded in a congress environment characterised by a high level of expertise and intensive interdisciplinary exchange.

Innovations in laser medicine and beyond

Numerous innovative applications for modern laser systems were presented at the congress. However, the focus was not exclusively on laser-based procedures; well-founded alternatives were also discussed. This differentiated approach makes it possible to critically compare treatment strategies and adapt them to individual patients.

Specialist lecture and workshop on phenol peels

I gave a detailed lecture on my innovative approach to phenol peels to a highly knowledgeable audience. I also led a one-hour workshop in which I discussed all aspects of peels and optimised skin care in detail.

The focus of my lecture was on a clearly structured treatment protocol for the perioral application of phenol peeling. I particularly addressed the individual treatment steps and the clinically crucial aftercare, which is essential for a safe and aesthetically optimal result. In addition, I compared phenol peeling with various alternative therapy options and discussed their respective indications, limitations and results in a direct comparison. Another central aspect of my presentation was the consistent avoidance of possible complications, whereby I shared practical strategies and proven procedures from my many years of clinical experience.

The combination of theoretical background, practical experience and clear instructions for action met with great interest and led to a lively professional discussion.

Valuable exchange among colleagues

As with previous SGML congresses, this event once again provided an excellent platform for interdisciplinary exchange. I was able to establish numerous valuable contacts with other specialist colleagues, which is extremely important for the continuous development of modern treatment concepts.

Finally, I would like to thank Dr Rümmelein once again for the invitation and the excellent organisation of this congress. The SGML Congress in Zurich impressively demonstrated how important open scientific dialogue is for progress in aesthetic and reconstructive medicine.
