More Information

An open gaze and large, alert eyes are a central aim of surgical measures to achieve a younger, more harmonious facial expression. For this reason, eyelid correction is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in aesthetic facial surgery. However, the impression of a tired look is also created by an age-related sagging of the forehead and a low brow, which can lead to an apparent excess of skin on the upper eyelids.

If this is not taken into account during treatment planning, the result is only an imperfect improvement in appearance or even an unnatural reduction in the size of the periorbital region. In the past, various techniques have been developed to lift the brows, which are used in isolation or in combination with blepharoplasty of the upper eyelids. Each of the techniques has advantages and disadvantages that need to be weighed up. In our practice, we have been using a limited subcutaneous brow lift for years, which is relatively easy to perform, can be adapted to individual needs and is very effective. Due to our positive experience with this technique, we usually perform blepharoplasty of the upper eyelids in combination with limited subcutaneous brow repositioning.

During the consultation, it is first clarified whether a good restoration of the functional field of vision and the aesthetic appearance can be achieved by lifting the brows alone or whether an additional correction of the upper eyelids is also advisable.
